Hello my name is Dr. Gulshan Wadhwa and I am from India. Presently working at Apex Biotechnology Information Centre (BTIC), Department of Biotechnology and working in the area of Bioinformatics and Research support. Various major activities undertaken through BTIC, DBT in the last 10 years include :

1. Establishment of Centres of Excellence in Bioinformatics

2. Establishment of Distributed information Centres in Bioinformatics

3. Establishment of Sub-Distributed Centres in Bioinformatics

4. Establishment of Bioinformatics Infrastructural Facilities (BIF) for Biology Teaching through Bioinformatics (BTBI)

5. Establishment of Supercomputing Facility in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (ScfBio) at IIT Delhi

6. Establishment of a Virtual Private Network BIOGRID

7. Administration of Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award for DBT

8. Establishment of Bioinformatics National Certification (BINC) Exam

9. M.Sc., M.Tech. & Ph.D. programmes in Bioinformatics & Computational Biology in India.
